my night routine
hi welcome back to my blog! for today’s post i’m sharing my current night routine. for a long time i’ve underestimated the importance of a night routine but arguably it’s more important because it puts you on track to have a good morning routine.
i’m going to start off this routine in the late afternoon. each day is completely different and so my nights always start off different but i start off by having dinner. it’s usually different but some of my favorites are pasta and salad, veggie and tofu stir-fry, chili, fajitas, etc.
after dinner i’ll clean up my room and journal a bit before going back down and making a cup of tea. most days i shower in the morning after my workout but sometimes i’ll have a night shower/bath. i also love a desert every few days, my faves are dark chocolate and vegan ice cream.
most nights i watch a little tv with my family as well. after that i’ll go and do my nighttime skincare, brush my teeth and floss. i love the burts bees charcoal toothpaste at the moment. my current night skincare routine starts with washing my face with the fresh soy face cleanser, then following with the ordinary niaciamide and retinol and moisturizing with rosehip oil. lastly i use the trader joes eye cream and some castor oil on my eyelashes which is so good for growing your eyelashes and eyebrows
the most important part of my night routine is reading before bed! this is like the key, it’s much harder to fall asleep if i’m on my phone or watching netflix all evening. i can’t recommend enough putting your phone away like an hour before bed and not going on social media! also love lighting a candle or turning on a diffuser and having a glass of water while i read. i just go to bed when i feel tired which is usually between 10:30 and 11pm.
