my favorite restaurants + cafes in washington

if you know me, you would know that your girl loves to eat. can a hobby be searching for new cafes and restaurants cause i swear i could make a career off it… i live in western washington but i always find myself around the state and finding new spots everywhere i go, so i thought i would share some favorites for all my washington girls or anyone travelling here soon, these spots won’t let you down!

allies vegan pizzeria and cafe – spokane

when i was in spokane for a volleyball tournament in the spring, we spontaneously decided to go to allies vegan cafe when my grandpa found it on google and that was an amazing decision. i got the most incredible vegan garlic bread i have ever had and i’m going to be honest i still think about it weekly but its 7 hours away from me… oh yeah and i got a pizza which was fab, but back to the garlic bread. i’ll be back in spokane twice this season for volleyball and you bet i’m getting it both times!

wild island restaurant – orcas island

i think this is a newer restaurant that moved in to orcas but i forced my family to last time we were there and nobody regretted it. i got a matcha latte, which i fell in love with and now i am a bit of a matcha girl. i also got a salad but i definitely could’ve ordered something more interesting but i got flustered at the counter and just got this which. but it was obviously yummy and super fresh but a tad boring compared to the rest of the menu… ooops but you bet i’ll be back!

veggie grill – multiple, seattle

this is a well-known one, at least on the wet coast, but the hype is so so well deserved. veggie grill is a small chain of all-vegan restaurants, i believe just on the west coast. i absolutely love everything i have tried on their menu which is a loooot. here are the crispy tacos but i also love their bowls, mac and cheese and brownies. even if you’re not vegan you will love everything here because it’s just amazing. someone please take me back here it’s been too long…

los iv hermanos – ocean shores

next up is the best mexican in ocean shores. i’ve been going here since i was a little kid and we didn’t go for a few years but this year we did and i fell back in love. i order a veggie fajita salad at most mexican restaurants and here was no different. but this one was the best i’ve ever had! also it has the super cute beachy and family vibe which i’m so here for.

honey – tacoma

the next spot i have discovered lately is honey at alta matter in tacoma. it’s located in this cute little modern and artsy going out kind of area. it has the prettiest veiws of the city and water along with aesthetic. their lattes are incredible and they have so many different ones that are so much more than your basic latte. i actually did not like what i ordered but it’s really my fault for ordering something i had tried once and didn’t like (i am dumb) so i had to still include it on this list.

red twig bakery cafe – edmonds

if you follow me on instagram (@carlyallison), you would have noticed how often i have been going here lately. they have the best hemp lattes i’ve ever tried. my go-to order is either the vegan muffin or the root bowl depending on how hungry i am and always accompanied by a coffee. it’s located in the cute little shop area of downtown edmonds so whenever i go i can make a whole day out of it.

pressed juicery – multiple, seattle

i think everyone and their mom has at least heard of pressed juicery, it’s even bigger in los angelos but i think it deserves the hype. i tried it for the first time last march with my friend and it was incredible. we each got a freeze, mine strawberry and hers matcha. we also got juices, mine the blue lemonade and hers the strawberry almond and wellness shots cause we were both sick then. its definitely a little more than just your basic healthy girl spot although it’s that too.

portifinos pizzeria – orcas island

of course i had to finish off this post with another orcas island favorite cause eastsound has so many yummy and super fresh food places you have to check out if you ever find yourself there. what i love about portifinos is the customize your own pizza option! i also love how fresh their pizzas are because you can just tell how fresh the ingredients are and they cook them when you order with just what you want. also the list of things to put on your pizza is literally infinite, you’ll never run out of new pizzas to put together.

i hope you enjoyed this post and either got some new places to check out if you’re ever in town or just enjoyed looking at some yummy food if not!
